Writing what you’re stressed about or writing down what you’re grateful for can help you relieve stress. When you’re writing about what you’re grateful for, you focus your thoughts on the positive aspects of your life which is a great way to fight stress.

3. Eat well

Stress eating is a common thing. It makes you feel bloated, lethargic and what not. The bad part is, you know about its consequences and yet you can’t stop but you really need to.

4. Spend time with your friends & family

Being part of a friend network gives you a sense of belonging, which can really help you in your tough times. Having strong social ties helps you get through the tough times.

5. Laugh

Laughter is always the best medicine. It is a great form of stress relief. It stimulates circulation & aids muscle relaxation which helps in reducing some of the physical symptoms of stress.

9. Avoid caffeine, alcohol & nicotine

Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol are stimulants and can increase your stress level. Alcohol acts as a depressant when taken in large quantities. If you notice that any of these is making you jittery, consider cutting back.

10. Take a break

When it becomes too much for you to handle at one time, just stop. Take a deep breath and do something else. Go on a vacation, meet friends, watch your favorite movie, dance – do whatever makes you happy.
