Former ‘Shark Tank India’ judge Ashneer Grover once worked with actor Salman Khan for ‘BharatPe’. The businessman has shared the experience of working with the superstar.

Shark Tank India became a rage in the nation with its unique concept of various entrepreneurs pitching their creative business ideas before the judges aka sharks. And just like the show, its sharks too gained popularity. Businessman Ashneer Grover became a household name after judging the first season of Shark Tank India. He often remains in headlines due to his bluntly honest statements. Once Bollywood star Salman Khan refused to click a photo with the entrepreneur. Now Ashneer has recalled that moment and has called Salman ‘smart’ for his move.

Ashneer Grover got angry on Salman Khan

Ashneer Grover appeared on Vagehra Vagehra podcast. He revealed that a few years ago Salman was the sponsor of his fintech company ‘BharatPe’. Referring to Salman, he said, “We had kept him (Salman Khan) a sponsor. Met him for the shoot and to brief about the company. I was sitting with him for three hours, his manager said that he does not want to be photographed. I said, ‘I will not get the photo clicked, bhaad mein ja tu, aisi kaunsi heropanti ho gayi’.”

Ashneer Grover realised Salman is actually ‘smart’

Ashneer Grover mentioned how he later realized that Salman is very smart. ‘The guy is smart. People think it’s in the air, but the guy is really smart. He understands business, he understands branding, he has a clear image. When we were making the ad, he had clearly told me to show him ‘larger than life’ because he had made Tubelight movie which was a flop as he was shown to be retarded in it. I thought he was the right person,’ stated Ashneer.

Ashneer Grover shared that Salman Khan had demanded Rs 7.5 crores to become the ‘brand ambassador’ for Ashneer Grover’s company, but later he agreed to Rs 4.5 crores.
