In this episode, the judges asked the participants to prepare a dish using fish as their essential ingredient. As the lady was vegetarian, the judges asked her to make that dish using paneer. Viewers disliked their action and were not impressed. Netizens felt that the participants who do not own the skills of cooking non-veg, should not be invited to the show.

Fans were fuming at the judges of the show for allowing a contestant to cook a non-veg dish without using a non veg item. Netizens took to twitter and compared the show with BB16. One user commented, “Height of favoritism by @SonyTV. Aruna allowed to chose protein of her own choice just because she is a vegetarian. Never such partiality has happened in other versions of Masterchef.” People believed that  if she cannot cook non-veg food, she should leave the show.
