‘…In 22 Years’: Priyanka Chopra Opens Up About Having Pay Parity First Time In Citadel; Checkout Story!

Global superstar Priyanka Chopra had a conversation with Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW 2023) on Friday. She said that said in Citadel she had pay parity with her male co-star. Citadel is her new Russo Brothers action drama co-starring Richard Madden.

The actress got Miss World 2000 crown. After that, she ventured into films. With the Tamil film Thamijaan (2002), she made her acting debut. In the next year, she made her Bollywood debut with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003).

Priyanka will act alongside Richard Madden in Prime Video’s up-and-coming series Citadel backed by Russo Brothers. The show is an ‘action-packed spy series.’ It spans the globe. The actress spoke about having ‘pay parity’ for the first time on the show.

Priyanka said that she might get into trouble for saying this. But it depends on who is watching. She is shining bright in the entertainment industry for 22 years. The actress did almost 70-plus features as well as two TV shows. But she revealed that when she did Citadel, it was the first time in her career that she had pay parity.

She added that she puts in the same effort and investment but she gets paid less. Priyanka said, “Did that happen because there are very few female decision-makers in Hollywood?”

The Amazon Studio head Jennifer replied to her that she could not say what would have happened if she wasn’t in charge. Instead, she praised her executive team. She said she has great male as well as female colleagues at her company.
