In the 21st century, junk food has more or less become a habit amongst all of us. Consuming fast food has now much evolved as a trend in the present era. But have you ever calculated the intake of calories while having a pizza slice or a burger? Pretty well, no! Because if you ever have done this, then you won’t be eating them the next time. The bitter truth is that despite knowing the reality, we people are still so much inclined towards such food items which apparently increase our calorie intake.

Now moving on to the food stuff which not only help in our weight loss, but are also proven to be really helpful in burning calories and controlling cholesterol level of an individual. Not all calories are created equal.  Different foods go through different metabolic pathways in the body. They can have vastly different effects on hunger, hormones and how many calories we burn. Here are some weight loss friendly foods that are supported by science.

Leafy Greens

Leafy greens include spinach, kale, collards, Swiss chards and a few others. These food items have special properties that make them perfect for a weight loss diet. They are low in both calories and carbohydrates, but rather loaded with fiber. Leafy Greens are highly nutritious because they contain almost all sorts of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.

Beans and Legumes

Sometimes beans and legumes can also be beneficial when you think to lose some weight. Some of these include lentils, black beans, kidney beans etc. These foods tend to be high in protein and fiber, and also contain some resistant starch, which is proven to helpful during the weight loss activity.

Chili Pepper

Eating chili peppers during a weight loss diet can be quite useful. This food contain a substance, called Capsaicin which reduces the appetite and increase the fat burning as said according to a research. This substance is even sold in supplement form and is a common ingredient in many commercial weight loss supplements.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Most of us are unaware about the fact that the Apple cider vinegar is one of the most helpful food items that one can consume during a weight loss diet. It is incredibly popular in the natural health community. It is popular for use in condiments, like dressing. Some people even dilute it in water and drink it as a beverage. Intake of such a food item gives you the feeling of fullness and hence makes you eat fewer calories for the rest of your day.

Some Whole Grains

Some people on a weight-loss diet avoid having grains, but I should tell you that it’s totally fine to have some of the whole grains if you can tolerate them. These whole grains include oats, brown rice and quinoa. They are loaded with fiber and contain a decent amount of protein as well. Oats are loaded with beta-glucans, soluble fibers that have been shown to increase satiety and improve metabolic health.

Apart from meals and diets having low energy density, soup is an important food item which tends to make people eat fewer calories. Most foods with a low energy density are those that contain lots of water, such as vegetables and fruits. But you can also just add water to your food… by making a soup. It makes people feel more satiated and eat significantly fewer calories.

Despite being high in fat, they’re an excellent snack as they contain balanced amounts of protein, fiber and healthy fats. Nuts are not inherently fattening. Studies have shown that eating nuts can improve metabolic health and can even cause weight loss. Just make sure not to go overboard, as they are still pretty much high in calories.
