“Actors Have To Face The Weight Of Unfavorable Reviews,” Say Raveena Tandon And Taapsee Pannu, Who Dread Working With “Confused Filmmakers!”
According to Raveena Tandon and Taapsee Pannu, it is not always the filmmakers who lack a clear vision but rather the performers who reviewers chastise for how they approach a role. As performers, Taapsee Pannu and Raveena Tandon have stated that their “greatest concern” is not comprehending the filmmakers’ vision. According to the two, the actors bear the brunt of ‘confused’ directors. They said that the audience assesses performers based on how they approach their roles, even though the director told them so.
“On sometimes, the director is perplexed. (Not this, let’s try something different) Achha aise nahi, Chalo aise try Karte hai But, sir, we can’t do that since this is the mindset required. Then you’re torn between what he wants from the character and what he wants from you. Does he wish for things to be this way or that way? In conversation, Raveena stated, “And then it becomes a little bit of a tangle, mess.”
Raveena agreed with Taapsee and said that the performer is the one who must suffer the brunt of the repercussions. Because when the evaluations come out, people will say things like, “Oh, she didn’t do it that way.” They to do it this way, dude.” Taapsee had the same sentiment.
During the Actors’ Roundtable 2021, Raveena and Taapsee spoke with Rajeev Masand. “They do, but on set, everything rapidly changes,” Taapsee remarked when asked whether discussions on how to portray a character take place before shooting. It occurred when they said, “OK, this should be the character’s attitude,” and then you go on set and are responsible in that manner. But then They add, “It’s not consistent with our previous talk.” ‘No, in this scenario, just respond, just do what say,’ replies the director. It makes me nervous. You must at least inform me so that You can see the graph in my head: where they begin, where They conclude, and what my next shot will be.
“Sometimes they edit,” Taapsee remarked. They provided a transition shot; however, they cut it in edit due to length or other factors. According to them, there was a transition shot, but it wasn’t necessary. You can’t exhibit emotion; thus, You don’t look well as an actress.”
