However, the personality who drew the most attention was Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. This marks one of the rare occasions where Aishwarya Rai and PM Modi appeared together on the same stage, sparking widespread discussion on social media. But the gathering had no political intent, it was solely their shared devotion to Sathya Sai Baba that brought them together.
Aishwarya Rai
Aishwarya Rai has been a devoted follower of Sathya Sai Baba for decades. Her spiritual connection began with her parents, Krishnaraj Rai and Vrinda Rai, who were long-time devotees. According to reports, when Aishwarya was born on November 1, 1971, her parents visited Puttaparthi to seek Baba’s blessings. It is believed that Sathya Sai Baba blessed the newborn and predicted she would grow into a virtuous woman and achieve great success.

Aishwarya also attended Sathya Sai Baba’s Bal Vikas program during her childhood and participated in religious seminars, further strengthening her spiritual bond with him. When Aishwarya won the Miss World title, she again visited Puttaparthi to seek his blessings. Even her decision to marry Abhishek Bachchan in 2007 was reportedly guided by her guru’s counsel. Sathya Sai Baba passed away in 2011, and Aishwarya continued to honor his memory. On his third death anniversary, she visited Puttaparthi and reportedly became emotional while remembering her spiritual mentor. Her presence at the centenary celebrations reflects the profound influence Baba’s teachings continue to have on her life.
