During a heated debate on nepotism with co-contestant Gaurav Khanna, Amaal made a statement that stunned housemates and angered viewers.

Amaal Malik Called His Father A Failure

He declared that his father, veteran music composer Daboo Malik, was a failure and referred to himself as a product of reverse nepotism. This wasn’t the first time Amal expressed this sentiment, but repeating it on national television triggered massive backlash from fans. The debate began when Gaurav stated that while everyone in the entertainment industry must work hard, those with industry connections often get easier access to opportunities. Amal disagreed and insisted that his family never enjoyed such privileges.

Gaurav told him, “Where your struggle begins, there lies our aspiration. We have our desire.” To which Amaal replied, “A common man stands outside Mehboob Studio. My brother and mother stood there the same way. There was no difference.” Gaurav then argued that Amaal still benefitted from his family’s legacy, especially in getting opportunities to meet or work with big names like Salman Khan.

Amaal countered, “My father never got my uncle Anu Malik’s support. We are products of reverse nepotism. Daboo Malik failed, and I have no problem accepting that. My father was a failure.” This remark immediately set social media on fire. Netizens erupted in anger, accusing Amaal of publicly humiliating his father, a respected music composer known for films like Tiranga, Baazigar, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, and Maine Dil Tujhko Diya.
