Through his sinister Project K, Yaskin seeks to develop a serum capable of artificially extending life. The intense storyline and powerful performances made the film one of the biggest cinematic spectacles of recent times. The original film featured a stellar ensemble including, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. However, reports suggest that Deepika Padukone will not be returning for Kalki 2. Industry buzz indicates that the actress allegedly stepped away from the sequel due to reported differences with the filmmaker over work-hour arrangements and a proposed fee revision.
