Anand Ramanand Sagar Chopra passed away at the age of 84, leaving behind a powerful legacy in Indian television. His last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Hindu crematorium on February 13 at 4:30 PM, as confirmed by the Sagar family through an emotional social media announcement.

The Sagar family shared a heartfelt statement announcing Anand Sagar’s passing. The message read, “It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Anand Ramanand Sagar Chopra. His last rites will be performed at the Pawan Hans Hindu crematorium on February 13th at 4:30 p.m.” With his passing, another important chapter in the illustrious Sagar family legacy has come to an end.

Anand Ramanand Sagar Chopra played a crucial role in preserving and expanding the creative vision established by his father, Ramanand Sagar, who revolutionized Indian television with the iconic mythological series Ramayana. In 2008, Anand created and produced a modern adaptation of Ramayana under the Sagar Arts banner. The show featured Gurmeet Choudhary as Lord Ram and Debina Bonnerjee as Goddess Sita.

Through his work, Anand ensured that mythological storytelling continued to inspire new generations of viewers. Prem Sagar was known for creating popular mythological shows like Vikram Aur Betaal and contributing significantly to the Ramayana franchise.
