Now, actor Ashwin Kaushal has opened up about the real reasons behind Govinda’s career downturn, and his statements are grabbing attention. In a recent interview, Ashwin Kaushal didn’t hold back. He attributed Govinda’s downfall to one key factor, his delusion or misconception. “There is no poison more dangerous than vaham. It changed his behavior, his attitude, everything,” Ashwin said.

He added that no external force could have stopped Govinda at his peak; instead, it was internal factors that led to his decline. Despite this, Ashwin remains hopeful. “If Govinda decides even today that he wants to be a superstar again, he can achieve it by tomorrow,” he claimed. Ashwin also spoke about Govinda’s deep bond with legendary actor-writer Kader Khan. According to him, Khan’s spirit and influence still live on within Govinda.

“He gave him a ‘Tathastu’. Govinda will continue to keep entertainment alive, not just for himself, but for all 90s actors,” Ashwin remarked. The Govinda–Kader Khan duo was iconic in Bollywood, delivering back-to-back hits like Raja Babu, Dulhe Raja, Hero No. 1, and Haseena Maan Jaayegi. Their chemistry defined an era of comedy and mass entertainment.

Ashwin Kaushal also drew parallels between Govinda and Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna, popularly known as Kaka. He pointed out how people often gossip about stars at their low points, just as they once did about Rajesh Khanna. “The kind of stardom Rajesh Khanna had will never be seen again, not even Amitabh Bachchan experienced that level,” Ashwin said.
