Television actor Avika Gor has been hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue, with her husband Milind Chandwani revealing that she continued fulfilling professional commitments despite battling a dangerously high fever. Chandwani shared the update on social media and asked fans to pray for the actor’s speedy recovery.
According to Chandwani, Avika had been suffering from a fever ranging between 103°F and 104°F for around five days before she was admitted to hospital. Despite feeling extremely unwell, the actor continued working on a project that had two days of shooting left. Chandwani said she completed the pending work in a single day while still running a high fever.
The actor then returned home and was given a two-day break. However, her condition reportedly remained difficult. Chandwani said Avika spent most of the time in bed, taking medication and struggling to move or eat properly. Despite this, another professional commitment awaited her in Delhi.
According to her husband, Avika travelled to Delhi to shoot an advertisement while still suffering from the fever. She underwent testing before travelling, but after returning to Mumbai, further medical tests confirmed that she had dengue. She was subsequently admitted to hospital for treatment.
Chandwani’s account has highlighted the extent to which Avika pushed herself to honour her professional commitments despite being seriously unwell. His post also appeared to praise her dedication while simultaneously expressing concern over the toll the illness had taken on her health.
The actor has built a career across television, films and digital projects. Her journey from playing Anandi in Balika Vadhu to taking on more mature roles has made her one of the recognisable actors of her generation.
Dengue, a mosquito-borne viral infection, can cause high fever, severe body aches, headache, nausea and extreme fatigue. In some cases, it can become serious and require hospitalisation. Avika’s hospitalisation comes as a reminder that persistent high fever should not be ignored, particularly when accompanied by worsening symptoms.
For now, Avika’s family and fans are hoping for a swift recovery. Chandwani’s message made it clear that the actor had been pushing through considerable discomfort before finally receiving hospital care.
