Television heartthrob Barun Sobti has not restricted himself to a single medium! The very talented actor was seen in a film (Tu Hai Mera Sunday) and a web series called Tanhaiyan apart from the second sequel of his famous TV show, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon!
Talking about the success of his film, Barun said, “It was heartening to see the response the film received. I was struggling with myself about the decisions I have made in my career. I chose to do something that I felt I should and not what other actors were doing.”
“When you follow your heart and don’t get results, then you start doubting yourself. You wonder if you’re doing the right thing if you’ve made the correct choices. When a film like THMS is received the way it was by the industry and audiences, then it is a fulfilling and satisfying feeling. It was a huge boost to my morale. I got many calls from people in the industry, and now, I will carry on believing in myself and doing the work that I want to,” he further added.
Owing to massive popularity of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, fans had high expectations from its third season. Unfortunately, Barun Sobti starrer season 3 failed to re-create the magic and emerged as a flop. When asked about his unsuccessful stint in the show, he opened up his heart and said, “”This is a lesson one has to learn: not everything will work out. Your job is to do your work and not be affected by results or success and failure. Don’t be affected when people tell you that you are phenomenal or your projects aren’t working. There should be no scope for people to tell you who you are. When people tell me something, I listen to it and don’t let affect me in any way.”
Well, bygones are bygones. Barun is now all set to be seen in a web series backed by Ekta Kapoor. Talking about the same, he said, “I loved the story of a dysfunctional family and my role in it. Working with Kay Kay Menon is phenomenal, as he is a sorted guy. His body of work is brilliant and we sit with the cast to chat during breaks. The entire cast is a fun bunch of people to work with.”
