After playing the role of a sperm donor in his debut film “Vicky Donor”, this Bollywood actor is all set to do another unconventional role on erectile dysfunction this time.
Yes, you guessed it right.
We are talking about the versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana.
The actor has been keeping busy in the promotions of his next film “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” with his co-star Bhumi Pednekar to raise voice against the taboo subject of erectile dysfunction and pre-marital sex. The duo- Ayushmann and Bhumi were last seen in Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
The story of the film “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” revolves around a boy named Mudit Sharma (Ayushmann Khurrana) and a girl named Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar) who are waiting to get married to each other. But two days prior to their wedding, they discover that the boy is suffering from erectile dysfunction.
Recently, In a talk With Mid-Day, The “Meri Pyaari Bindu” actor said, “I endorse pre-marital sex. In our society, we encourage arranged marriage. Marriage is an important aspect of one’s life. It’s always good to test the waters before jumping in.”
“What will the couple do if there’s a problem they learn about after getting hitched? In our film, the lead protagonists are in love, and support each other but that might not always be the case,” he added.
Khurrana also explained how this film will bring a positive change by saying that, “In a country where erectile dysfunction is a taboo subject, I am glad that we are putting it out there for the public to discuss it.” He further added, “The male ego is so unnecessarily important in patriarchal societies. When a woman cannot conceive, everyone has something to tell her. When a guy can’t get it up, it’s shoved under the carpet. Sexual health is important to a relationship. In this film, the girl is in love with the guy and we establish the fact that their relationship goes beyond the sexual act. But the girl is emphatic that she wants to have sex. In this society, chauvinism is mistaken for chivalry. It’s tough to change that. This film will trigger a change in the right direction. ”
The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 1, 2017.
