A distinguished gathering having presence of citizens from Colombia, Maldives and Fiji witnessed the Carnival of Barranquilla as a part of 3rd International Folk Dance and Music Festival organised by ICCR (Indian Council For Cultural Relations) in collaboration with The Embassy Of Colombia in India at Kamani auditorium on Monday. The three day long festival organised annually endeavours to encourage cultural ties between India and other countries. The event got a perfect beginning with lighting of the lamp ceremony by H.E. Mónica Lanzetta Mutis, ambassador of Colombia in India. In her speech, Mónica Lanzetta Mutis congratulated ICCR for successfully organising the festival for the third consecutive year. “This is an excellent platform to witness quality performance from different parts of world and strengthen bond by promoting creativity, artistic work and culture exchange. And I feel proud to present to you the Carnival of Barranquilla today” she said.
