Although Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s latest release ‘Fanney Khan’ is receiving a lukewarm response at the box-office, her performance as Baby Singh is being appreciated. She played the character of a successful rock star in the film. The film, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Divya Dutta and debutant Pihu Sand in prominent roles, revolves around the story of a young girl, Lata, who aspires to become a popular singer.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Aishwarya talked about her personal and professional life. The interview was a general one except for the fact that Aishwarya might or might not have taken a sly dig on Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt. She was asked about her plans about working with Shah Rukh Khan again, the actress replied, “When will I get cast with Shah Rukh Khan, I think a lot of those actors are quite involved in the casting of their movies, so ask them, they will know when they will choose to work with me.”
Seems like Aishwarya threw a major shade at SRK here. For those who don’t know, Aishwarya was signed to star in Shah Rukh’s ‘Chalte Chalte’ but ended up being replaced last minute by Rani Mukherjee. The whole incident was quite controversial. Reportedly, Aishwarya’s then-boyfriend Salman Khan reached the sets one day and created quite a scene and disrupted the shooting. Shah Rukh, being one of the producers, decided to step in and got Aishwarya replaced. Later, Rani was signed to play the part.
About SRK, she also said, “He is very charismatic, super-sharp and he is someone who achieves his target. What he has his eyes set on, he will get that done and for that, he works very hard and makes sure he achieves it. So, he’s truly an achiever as he’ll make it happen.”
Though she ended her interview on a diplomatic note, her earlier statement sounded like a dig at King Khan.
