Director Celebrates 8 Years Of Raanjhana
Raanjhana has been close to hearts of people all over. The storyline goes around a young man,Kundan, who is head over heels for a girl belonging to Muslim community, Zoya. There different religions aren’t the only hinders, there social-economic backgrounds are too. Entire plot revolves around this young man trying to win over the heart of his childhood love.
The movie isn’t only loved for the story, it’s songs were blockbusters too. It’s song Tum Tak, crossed 15 million views on YouTube. The last dialogue of the film “Ab koun mehnat kare saala dil lagane ko” has an entirely another level fanbase.
Starring Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush in the lead role, the film was applauded for the amazing acting, dialogues, love and friendship among the characters. One comment on YouTube for Dhanush read, “Even though this guy doesn’t have any abs or muscles like other stars, he still wins for this acting. Respect.”
The makers had a different intention, of displaying love and friendship between two communities, and problems faced by them. Rather, some of the audience took the criticism on a different plane, alleging that the movie promotes the “uski naa me bhi haan hai” and it okays stalking and clinging. However, the movie still enjoys popularity among people.
Speaking on the film’s 8th anniversary, director of Raanjhana Aanand L Rai said: “21st June means a lot to me. This day made me courageous! Brave enough to tell the stories which I believed in. Eight years back on the same day, Raanjhanaa released, and today, I started shooting for Raksha Bandhan! May Mahadev grace this story the way he did Raanjhanaa!”
Aanand L Rai has currently started shooting for the film Raksha Bandhan, which stars Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.
