Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been hitting the headlines in the past few day for her controversial comments on political news and her praise for the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Often she has showered Narendra Modi with praises. She even said that she wants Narendra Modi to win the elections in 2019 as five years weren’t enough.

Earlier, at the premier of of Chalo Jeete Hain, a short film revolving around Modi’s childhood, Kangana expressed her support for PM Narendra Modi. After the premier she had said, “He (Modi) is the most deserving candidate. It’s not because of his mummy and papa that he has reached this position. This should not be taken away from him. He deserves this place and he has earned it by sheer hard work. There is no conflict, doubt about his credibility as the prime minister.”

Last month, when Kangana Ranaut expressed her support for prime minister Narendra Modi, calling him “the rightful leader of the democracy” , it quickly led to speculation that the actor was paving the way for a career in politics. Meanwhile, there were also rumours that Kangana might be contesting from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2019.

With that being said, is Kangana ready to enter politics? Well, talking to Mid-day, she has made it clear that she is not going to take the political plunge in the near future. Kangana revealed that these rumours were in fact just rumours. The actor added that neither is she a sissy who will say no to politics as it is demanding nor will she be selfish enough to say that it isn’t her cup of tea.

“I am currently in the midst of Manikarnika, Mental Hai Kya and we’ve just announced Panga.Whenever I decide to take up the path, I will do so with utmost sophistication, dignity and full focus. If I have to be a national servant, I can’t have a family or kids, or an alternate career. A politician should be nothing more than a government servant.”, Kangana said.

“Whenever there is any danger on our country, we have our soldiers who are ready to sacrifice their lives even without batting an eyelid. If my country ever needs me, then I will be willing to lay my life for my country, leave alone joining politics.”, she added.
