The makers have already teased an intense, cult-style romantic drama through the film’s teaser and its two songs, Ve Junoon and Yeh Awarapan, creating strong excitement among fans.

Emraan Hashmi Reacts to Mixed Reactions to Yeh Awarapan
Emraan criticised the growing social media trend where netizens reject every new idea or creative offering presented to them today. “They jump to conclusions,” he said, before recalling that the songs of Awarapan, like Tera Mera Rishta and Toh Phir Aao, were not instant hits and they gradually connected with the listeners. The popularity that the songs enjoy today took over a decade to be recognised.
Why Mustafa Zahid Couldn’t Record the Recreated Version of Toh Phir Aao
The recreated version of Toh Phir Aao for Awarapan 2 will be released soon, as earlier promised by Emraan Hashmi and producer Vishesh Bhatt. Responding to a fan’s question, Vishesh revealed that original singer Mustafa Zahid could not record the new version because of India’s ban on Pakistani artistes. He added that the entire Awarapan 2 team fully supports the Indian government’s decision and will follow all applicable laws.
In July, Awarapan 2 composer Amaal Mallik tweeted about the film’s music, crediting Mustafa for his contribution to the franchise through the iconic song Toh Phir Aao. “Also a big hug to the man we all must never forget, the voice of the original #MustafaZahid and his contribution to the 2007 soundtrack – My homie, my brother from another mother & a dangerous border @Mustafology. We could’ve never been doing this if you hadn’t done the magic in the original my bro. Thank you for the stupendous melodies, the impeccable vocals and that emptiness in your rendition still haunts me and heals me.”
