‘Fukrey 3’ Shooting Has Begun; Says, ‘Choocha’ aka Varun Sharma

Varun Sharma said on Thursday that filming on the third installment of “Fukrey” has begun. Mrigdeep Singh Lamba directed the buddy comedy film franchise, which is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. The first installment was released in 2013, followed by “Fukrey Returns” in 2017. Sharma, who rose to stardom for his role of Choocha in the film “Fukrey,” updated his fans and followers on the shoot via Instagram. The 32-year-old actor captioned a photo of the film’s clapboard, “Shuru Hogayi!! Jai Mata Di.”

Richa Chadha plays local mobster Bholi Punjaban in the “Fukrey” franchise, which follows four pals Ali Fazal (Zafar), Pulkit Samrat (Hunny), Sharma, and Manjot Singh (Laali) as they hunt for easy money only to end up in trouble. Chadha provided a video clip of the “Fukrey 3” team participating in a table read session in September 2020. Pankaj Tripathi, an actor, is also a part of the franchise.

Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadda, Vishakha Singh, and Priya Anand starred in the original Fukrey, which premiered in 2013. The plot unfolds as four dream-chasing college pals cross paths with a colourful cast of characters, including a tough-talking Punjabi female don and a Jugaad Baaz college watchman. Chaos ensues. Despite a shaky start, the picture went on to become a surprise success.

Following that, Fukrey Returns picks up a year after the events of the first film. The Fukras are at a crossroads with their past, which is going to define their destiny, having relished the riches of war they had so audaciously waged. Bholi Punjaban is back and ready to take the Fukras on a murderous trip, bent on a ruthless retaliation.

All in all both the sequels were loved by the public. Let’s see what the next one unfolds. Aside from “Fukrey 3,” Sharma will star in Rohit Shetty’s “Cirkus,” which also stars Ranveer Singh.
