Reality show star Baseer Ali, known for his confident presence and sharp personality, has finally spoken out after his shocking eviction from Bigg Boss 19. While fans expected him to be one of the finalists, the Sunday episode marked an abrupt end to his journey. In an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Baseer addressed multiple controversies—from his alleged love angle with Nehal Chudasama to his bitter rivalry with Awez Darbar—while accusing Salman Khan and the show’s makers of “clear bias.”
“I Walked Out Smiling”
Baseer’s eviction stunned his fans, many of whom questioned the voting outcome. Reflecting on his exit, he said, “I’ve learnt the art of acceptance through every reality show I’ve done. When I woke up that morning, something felt different in the house. I took it as a sign from God. When my name was announced, I just walked out with a smile.”
The Hyderabad-born reality star—who earlier appeared in MTV Roadies and Splitsvilla—believes Bigg Boss 19 tested his patience and resilience more than any show before. “It was mentally exhausting but also eye-opening. You realise who you are when the cameras never turn off,” he said.
On Being Called ‘Fake’
Several contestants had accused Baseer of being “fake” and “too polished,” a label he firmly rejects. “This is my fifth reality show. If I were faking an accent or a persona, the audience would have caught it on Day 1,” he said. “It was too much for some housemates to handle my energy and straightforwardness. That’s their shortcoming, not mine.”
Baseer added that being a constant topic of discussion was a badge of honour. “They were talking about me in every corner of the house. In a way, they became my PR team.”
Friendships and Fallout
Following his eviction, fans speculated that his friendships with Amaal Mallik and Nehal Chudasama led to his downfall. Many online comments claimed, “Baseer ko dosti le doobi” (his friendships sunk him). Responding to the chatter, he said, “I can’t blame anyone for that. I chose my friends. I stood by them when they were wrong because that’s who I am. If that’s the reason I got evicted, then it’s a cruel world.”
Baseer also confirmed that he’s reconciled with Zeishan Quadri, saying, “Zeishan bhai was the first person I spoke to after leaving the show. We laughed about a lot of things. He’s mature; he understood the misunderstandings and moved on. We’ll stay friends for life.”
“Nehal and I Were Just Friends”
One of the biggest talking points of Bigg Boss 19 was Baseer’s alleged romantic link with Nehal Chudasama. Addressing it head-on, he said, “I was very clear—we are just friends. People exaggerated every small gesture. The makers chose selective clips of me lying on her lap to create a love angle. But we were doing a lot more—discussing life, strategy, emotions—that was never shown.”
He alleged that the show’s editing was misleading. “When the makers control the narrative, the audience will believe what they see. That’s the harsh truth of reality TV.”
Rivalry with Awez Darbar
Baseer’s tense relationship with Awez Darbar became one of the season’s most talked-about feuds. After eviction, reports surfaced that Awez threatened to reveal Baseer’s secrets publicly. Reacting to that, Baseer said, “Awez is absolutely unimportant to me. He’s too image-conscious and fragile for a show like Bigg Boss. I told him on the show that I’m done with the drama. But if he wants to start a circus outside, I’m ready.”
He further dared Awez to go public: “Please reveal the secrets you claim to have. I’m not scared. I already know plenty about your life too. So if you want a circus, let’s make it big.”
Baseer also hinted that a third person, Awez’s ex, was responsible for creating tension between them. “People talked about my sexuality and character, but I don’t care. My life’s good, and I’ve moved on.”
“Bigg Boss and Salman Were Biased”
The strongest part of Baseer’s interview was his accusation of bias against him by the show’s makers and host Salman Khan. He alleged that while offensive remarks about his sexuality were ignored, his own statements were exaggerated for controversy.
“What was Bigg Boss doing when Malti Chahar made a comment about my sexuality on camera?” he asked. “It was aired, but nobody addressed it. When I called the contestant quality ‘shit,’ Farah Khan scolded me, and suddenly I became the villain. That’s hypocrisy.”
He also mentioned another incident where contestant Gaurav allegedly made a classist remark comparing family backgrounds. “He pointed at me and said, ‘Yeh log toh aise hai.’ Nobody took action. Clearly, they didn’t want to upset their favourites,” Baseer claimed.
“I Was Left Unguided”
Ending the conversation on a reflective note, Baseer said he felt abandoned by the production team. “There was no guidance, no support. It’s unfair that everything negative about me was amplified while genuine issues were ignored. But I’ve made peace with it. I walked in alone, and I walked out with my head held high.”
