Bollywood actor Kajol has been winning hearts with her stunning performance in the films since her debut. Kajol who was linked to many actors during her early years of acting married Ajay Devgn two decades ago. The couple is now happily living their married life and has a daughter Nysa and son Yug. But did you know? Kajol’s father Shomu Mukherjee was against her decision to marry Ajay Devgn at 24.

In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Kajol revealed that her father did not want her to marry at the age of 24 as he wanted her to pursue her acting career. The actor mentioned that her dad wanted her to work more before taking the big step. She then shared that it was her mom Tanuja, who became her biggest supporter. Kajol disclosed that her mother asked her to go with her gut and she did exactly what she wanted to do.

“My mom was my biggest supporter, and told me to go with my gut. I have been lucky that everybody around has always stood up for me. So, I did exactly what I wanted to do. I didn’t have to face patriarchy. Or maybe I faced it without realising because I can be oblivious in some situations,” she said.

Ajay Devgn and Kajol tied the knot on February 24, 1999, and this year they will celebrate 22 years of togetherness. Kajol is currently away in Singapore, staying with her daughter Nysa, who is pursuing her education there. While Ajay Devgn is fulfilling his daddy duties in Mumbai with his son Yug. While on the professional front the duo was last seen together in the historic drama ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’.
