Karan Johar, who made his Bollywood debut as a director with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. The movie also featured a young Sana Saeed, Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo and Farida Jalal in pivotal roles while Salman Khan featured in a cameo.

Last year in an interview with PTI, Karan Johar said: “I was 24 when I wrote that film. But I can’t write the same film now. When I see Kuch Kuch Hota Hai today or Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham I myself wonder, ‘Why did I write this, how did I write this, from where these thoughts came to my mind?'”

Now, while hosting ISHQ 104.8’s show “Calling Karan Season 2,” one of the listeners asked him about the stars he would cast in the remake of the movie. To which, Karan said that  if he ever made the film’s sequel, , he would cast actors Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor in it. Karan replied saying: “If I made Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2, I would cast Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor in it.”

Alia Bhatt was launched in Bollywood by Karan with his film Student of the Year in 2012. The actress is currently shooting for Ayan Mukherjee’s Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor. The two will be sharing the screen space for the first time ever.  The rumours of them dating has got the fans eagerly waiting to watch the movie.

Janhvi Kapoor also made her acting debut with a film, Dhadak, backed by Karan. Soon after the release of the Shashank Khaitan-directed film, Karan announced his next project – Takht – which will also feature the 21-year-old actress.

Ranbir, on the other hand, has worked with Karan Johar in films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Ranbir Kapoor will also be part of Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which is a fantasy trilogy.
