Actress Kriti Sanon recently opened up about her experience working with Dhanush in their upcoming romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, saying that together they “created some magical moments” on screen. Her comments highlight both her admiration for the actor and the deep creative chemistry that drove some of the film’s most powerful scenes.
Kriti didn’t hide how much she respects Dhanush’s craft. She called him “an incredible actor” and praised his ability to bring complex layers to his character. According to her, he’s not just technically skilled, but deeply invested in performance: “He has a very strong hold on his craft … He’s very nuanced … he comes from a lot of experience and understanding of scenes and how it will translate on the screen.”
The pair’s connection struck early, Kriti said, because they entered the project without having met — just as their on-screen characters Shankar and Mukti begin their journey as unfamiliar to each other. She explained that the lack of prior acquaintance actually worked in their favor: “We had not met before, and even Shankar and Mukti in the film … at a point had not met before … so that worked out!”
According to her, the shooting process was built around long, emotionally charged sequences that required both actors to stay fully present and deeply connected. “We have some really intense scenes, a lot of really long scenes … when both of us feed off each other,” Kriti said. She added that Dhanush was “really collaborative … really helpful,” which made their on-set relationship productive and inspiring.
Kriti recalled several moments during the shoot when she and Dhanush would look at each other after a take and say, “That was a good scene!” — validating that they weren’t just performing, but genuinely creating something together. It’s this mutual recognition — of effort, risk, and emotional investment — that she described as magical.
For Kriti, Tere Ishk Mein isn’t just another film: it feels like a turning point. She has expressed a sincere desire to work with Dhanush again, signaling that her experience on this project was far from transactional. “I have really enjoyed working with him and I hope we do a lot more work in the future,” she said.
As for the film’s narrative, Kriti plays Mukti, a character she describes as believing in transformation and inherent goodness. While Mukti’s choices may differ from her own, Kriti resonates with her fundamental optimism: “She truly believes … there’s goodness in everyone.”
With its November 28 release date, Tere Ishk Mein is already building buzz. The pairing of Dhanush and Kriti, combined with a soundtrack by A. R. Rahman, has sparked high expectations. And if Kriti’s words are any sign, the chemistry captured on screen may turn out to be just as powerful behind the scenes.
