  • Cleansing

Make sure you always remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. Our skin needs to breathe overnight and as makeup prevents that, leaving it overnight clogs the pores which cause blemishes or blackheads. Use a good makeup remover to get rid of the makeup and dirt.

  • Exfoliation

Exfoliate your skin at least once or twice a week to remove the layers of dead skin. Doing so will give you a healthier glow and brighter skin. Experts believe that cleansing without exfoliation can lead to acne formation, as the dead skin clings to the pores-an ideal 0breeding ground for bacteria.

  • Sunscreen

Apply sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Excessive sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems. Make sure that Lebel reads “noncomedogenic” or” nonacnegenic” so that the product does not tend to block the pores.

Don’t skip the sunscreen even if it’s cloudy or cold outside. If you are heading to a beach, lather your skin up with some sunscreen with SPF of at least 30.

  • Moisturizing

Never underestimate the power of a good moisturizer. You need the right one for your skin type. Use light moisturizers instead of the heavy ones.

  • Eating

You are what you eat! So, keep a note of what you put on your plate. Eat fresh fruits, greens, sufficient proteins. A diet rich in vitamin C and low in fat and sugar promotes radiant skin. Consider a low-sugar diet which can keep insulin levels down, allowing cells to maintain a healthy balance. Avoid spicy and salty foods and it will create a huge difference to your skin.

Note These Things Down

  • Cleopatra’s milk bath isn’t just a luxurious myth. Scientists have proven that with the lactic acid in milk, your skin will emerge rejuvenated and glowing, and all that dead skin will be exfoliated away. Use a milk-based cosmetic cream on a cotton ball for your facial skin. You will have the skin of the royalty after this little trick.
  • Use good soaps as ordinary ones wash away the essential protein making the skin dry and lifeless over time.
  • Since lips have very little melanin they have no natural defense against the sun. Always apply an SPF 8-15 lip balm under your lipstick and reapply frequently during the day.

(No matter how nervous you are, don’t bite your lips. The skin there lacks an outer layer of protection that body skin has, so it can easily be broken making it prone to infection)

  • Stress causes your body to produce cortisol and other hormones, making the skin oily. Avoid stress as much as possible.
