Shows like ‘Kyuni saas bhi kabhi bahu thi’, ‘kahani ghar ghar ki’, ‘kasautii zindagi kii’, ‘kasamh se’ etc are some of the most popular TV shows of all times.

Ekta has recently ventured into the digital medium of entertainment i.e. the internet by launching ‘Alt Balaji’ which is a webite and also a mobile phone application that caters fresh content to the audience by the medium of finite web series.

Recently various news have been surfacing around media that Ekta Kapoor is supposedly going to make a television adaptation of Karan Johar’s one of the most iconic films ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’.

It was family oriented drama film which had some flavours of romance and humour as well. Well, it sounds like a perfect recipe for a successful Indian television serial. Family drama is one genre that works very well on Indian TV.

Various names and rumours were coming up the past few days about which TV actor is going to play which character from the movie. Amidst all the rumours and speculations, one of the male leads seems to be finalized for the remake. That person is none other than TV actor and VJ Varun Sood.

Varun will supposedly play the character of younger male lead Rohan Raichand which was originally played by Hrithik Roshan in the movie.

Varun was previously seen in two youth reality shows MTV Roadies X2 and MTV Splitsvilla 9.

We are very excited for this TV remake of our favourite film and can’t wait for the rest of the cast to be announced.
