For weeks, reports had suggested he was unwell, following a recent death hoax that circulated widely and upset his family. The He-Man of Bollywood, Dharmendra, worked for over six decades and contributed to more than 300 films, earning immense respect. After being admitted to the hospital last month, he recovered briefly and was shifted home for continued care. However, on November 24, 2025, the veteran star passed away. Though his family has not formally confirmed the heartbreaking news, they were seen participating in the cremation ceremony, bidding a final farewell to the legendary actor. His admirers across the nation expressed sorrow, remembering his warmth, humility, iconic performances, and unwavering dedication to cinema always.

Dharmendra Passes Away at 89: Hema Malini and Esha Deol Seen at Crematorium

Few details about Dharmendra’s passing have been revealed so far, but he had been unwell for several weeks. During this period, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, where numerous actors visited him as he underwent treatment. On November 12, 2025, he was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital, marking a brief improvement before news of his demise emerged, which sadly did not last long for his loved ones to bear.

Reports soon suggested the actor was recovering, and his family planned a double celebration, including his 90th birthday on December 8, 2025. However, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025. Images from his last rites and cremation circulated online. Hema Malini was seen grieving inside a car, while Esha Deol was spotted at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans crematorium, where she reportedly broke down in tears, as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the legendary actor during his emotional farewell.

Hema Malini Shares Update on Dharmendra’s Health

Hema Malini grew furious when false reports about Dharmendra’s death began circulating widely. She condemned the media on social platforms for spreading such misinformation. After Dharmendra returned home, she spoke to Times Now, explaining that his health had been a constant worry for the family. She added that their children had been sleepless, leaving her no space to be emotionally weak, as she had many responsibilities to shoulder. Hema Malini expressed relief that Dharmendra was finally home, surrounded by their loving family. She clarified that although he was recovering, he was still unwell and needed rest. She urged fans to continue praying for his improved health as the family focused on supporting him. She emphasised that their priority now was ensuring his comfort and stability. 

“It has not been an easy time for me. Dharamji’s health is a matter of great concern for us. His children are sleepless. I can’t afford to be weak, too many responsibilities. But yes, I am happy he’s back home. We are relieved he is out of hospital. He needs to be among the people he loves. Baaki toh sab upar wale ke haath mein hai. Please pray for us.”

Dharmendra, born into a humble family, watched Dilip Kumar’s film Shaheed during his teens, an experience that ignited a dream within him. Standing before a mirror, he declared, “Main Dilip Kumar banna chahta hoon.” His manifestation worked, eventually making him one of Bollywood’s greatest stars, ruling the industry for sixty-five years through unmatched passion and hard work. Now, his fans will get the chance to see him one final time in the upcoming film Ikkis.
