Lizzo Appears To Be Reacting To Liam Payne’s Statements On One Direction, Claiming That “He Was Not The Frontman”
Liam Payne recently made news for statements he made about former One Direction member Zayn Malik, as well as comments he made about Simon Cowell rebuilding One Direction with him as the lead singer. During a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s Impulsive podcast, Harry Styles discussed the formation of One Direction, claiming, “From what I’ve heard, part of the reason One Direction was formed was that Simon promised me.”
On the May 31 broadcast of the podcast, Liam opened up about Simon Cowell’s promise, adding, “That I’ll make this work for you in two years. So he began with my face and worked his way around the rest.” The allegation that One Direction began with him did not sit well with Lizzo, who is known to be close to Harry Styles, the band’s other member.
In her latest TikTok video, Lizzo provided her thoughts on recent headlines and who was in the press recently, and while seemingly addressing Payne’s statements, she continued, “I don’t know who lied to that poor child, but he was not the frontman.”
Payne not only discussed 1D’s founding, but also former member Zayn Malik, saying, “There are numerous reasons why I despise Zayn and there are many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side.” Payne’s words did not sit well with Malik’s fans, who took to social media to criticize the singer.
