Get ready for the ultimate box office clash this weekend. It is Khiladi Kumar’s “Rustom” opposite Hrithik Roshan’s “Mohenjo Daro”. While Rustom has created hype all over with much support from the film industry, Mohenjo Daro’s music is swaying away the hearts.
The Nanavati Murder is the most heart rending real life love story of independent India based on a much decorated naval commande, killing the paramour of his wife with a service pistol way back in 1959. ‘Rustom’ will sketch the occurrences of Nanavati’s ( Akshay Kumar ) life, the marriage to the British born Sylvia, the extra-marital affair of his wife Sylvia with his friend and colleague Ahuja. It will also have Ahuja’s famous rebuttal “ Will I marry every woman I sleep with “ and then the murder. The affair, the intrigue, the mystery, the emotion, Sylvia backing Nanavati in the court, the court case and media trial are part of a pot boiling drama that will be played out as a super masala real life story.
Akshay Kumar has given us two hits this year, Airlift and Housefull 3. If we have a look at his career graph, there are many performances given by him that left an everlasting mark in the hearts of the audiences. Rustom, a movie based on a real-life incident of Naval Officer K.M Nanavati created a place for itself from the day of the trailer release. The trailer itself was very gripping. On the other hand, Mohenjo Daro is Hrithik’s comeback to the silver screen after two long years. The film has Tollywood star, Pooja Hegde opposite Hrithik. This historical period film is much awaited ever since its announcement. Ashutosh Gowariker, who has given us many hit movies like Lagaan, Swades, and Jodha Akbar, his next, Mohenjo Daro has gained much attention. The movie will be world’s first to showcase the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation.
Talking about the music, Atif Aslam has already won hearts with Rustom’s first track “Tere Sang Yaara”. On the other hand, the duo of A.R Rahman and Javed Akhtar is giving us soulful songs like “Tu hai” and “Sarsariya”. The songs are surely hitting our playlists this season.
Recently, Hrithik Roshan was seen promoting Rustom over Twitter. He tweeted, “#MohenjoDaro is just 4 days away. And so is #Rustom (wink) @akshaykumar #dostiKiHaiToNibhaniPadegi”. Akshay in return, tweeted “Bas kar pagle ab rulayega kya. Get ready with your popcorn guys, entertaining weekend ahead”.
While Rustom is based on a real-life incident, Mohenjo Daro takes us back to the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation. It is difficult to compare both the movies in any sense as they cater to the choices of different audiences. The long weekend is just around the corner and so are these two movies. This weekend will surely help adding to the business of the two much awaited movies of the year. We hope that both the movies will do well at the box office and get lots of love from the audiences.
Guys! Grab your popcorns. An entertaining weekend awaits!
