‘Men Are More Uncomfortable And Nervous While Shooting Intimate Scene’, Says Tamannaah Bhatia; Read Here

Actresses Huma Qureshi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Aliya F, Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar emerged in a round table interview. The actresses talked about their views and experiences while shooting an intimate scene. Where Bhumi recalled her experiences from her Netflix series Lust Stories and Huma Qureshi about the rape scene in Mirzapur. Tamannaah also added and claimed that she had noticed that male actors are more conscious and nervous while shooting an intimate scene on camera.

 

While talking about her experiences, Huma said, there is always a sense of discomfort and nervousness before an intimate scene is shot. However, this culture becomes common day by day but still the uneasiness exists. On this, Tamannaah said, “I have seen lot of men being uncomfortable or being nervous with intimate scenes. It’s like understanding that actors are also human being, it’s not about male or female. Sometimes men are a more shy and they’re a more worried about how the woman is going to feel.”

The host added that in past years, media was invited while the team shoot such type of scene. Bhumi looked amazed and said, “That is so exploitative.”  Rakul claimed that the whole process is mechanical and she counted seconds while shooting intimate scene. Bhumi said that when she shot Lust Stories, she had a ‘full throttle’ love scene with co-actor Neil Bhoopalam and she was rather nervous about going through it.

She addressed the sympathy that director Zoya Akhtar had, adding that she had a conversation with Neil about boundaries. Huma Qureshi talked about her rape scene from Badlapur and how she was a ‘wreck’ before filming it. She continued and said that her hands were ‘shaking’ at the end of the day.
