Reliance Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani will soon tie the knot with Anand Piramal, son of businessman Ajay Piramal in December, in India, this year.
Anand and Isha have known each other for quite a long time. They are great friends and their families too share a great bonding for almost four decades.
Last week, Anand went down his knees to propose Isha at a temple in Mahabaleshwar. The couple then celebrated the special day with their families over a lunch. Being a part of the celebrations were seen Nita Ambani, Mukesh Ambani, Swati Piramal and Ajay Piramal, Isha’s grandparents, Kokilaben Ambani and Purnimaben Dalal, Isha’s twin brother Akash, younger brother Anant, Anand’s sister Nandini, Peter, Anya, Dev and other family members.
On Sunday, Isha and Anand even visited the Siddhivinayak temple with their families to seek blessings. While Isha looked beautiful in her pink coloured traditional outfit, Anand, on the other hand, looked simple yet classy in his casual white shirt and blue denim.
Though there are no announcements on their wedding date and venue yet, but this has been confirmed that the two will get married before Isha’s twin brother Akash Ambani and his fiance Shloka Mehta.
Anand Piramal, who is a post-graduate in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, is the founder of Piramal Realty, one of the most renowned real estate startups in India. Before Piramal Realty happened, Anand founded a healthcare startup, Piramal eSwasthya that provided treatment to around 40,000 patients in a day. Other than being the founder of his two startups, he is also the executive director of the Piramal Group, a global business conglomerate.
On the other hand, Isha Ambani is on the Boards of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail. She is a graduate in Psychology and South Asian Studies from Yale University and will get over with her Masters in Business Administration programme from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford by June 2018.
Earlier at an event in Mumbai, Anand went ahead to thank Mukesh Ambani for convincing him to become an entrepreneur. He said, “I asked him, whether I should get into consulting or banking?” “He told me, ‘Being a consultant is like watching cricket or commentating about cricket while being an entrepreneur is like playing cricket. You can’t learn how to play cricket by commentating. If you want to do something, be an entrepreneur in the long term and start now’.”
