NCB Summoned Ananya Pandey In The Mumbai Cruise Drugs Case; To Be Interrogated About Her Chats With Aryan Khan
According to an NDTV report, the NCB raided Ananya’s Mumbai residence today, seizing her laptop and mobile. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) reportedly called actor Ananya Pandey, who arrived at the investigating agency’s office on Thursday. According to a report published in The Times of India, she was summoned after NCB recovered her chat messages from Aryan Khan’s phone. The NCB arrested Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan, along with a few others, on October 3 in connection with the seizure of banned drugs onboard a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.
Ananya Pandey was asked to reach the NCB office for questioning at 2 pm on Thursday, an India Today report quoted NCB DDG Ashok Mutha Jain as saying. A TOI report added the NCB claimed that the actress’ name figures in some WhatsApp chats recovered from Aryan Khan’s phone and that she will be grilled by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and a female officer.
Ananya’s Mumbai residence was raided by the NCB today, according to an NDTV report, and her laptop and phone were taken. Ananya Panday, the daughter of actor Chunky Panday, made her Bollywood debut in Student of the Year 2 in 2019. The actress is best friends with Aryan’s sister, Suhana.
Ananya’s family is looking for legal help in responding to the NCB summons.
A special NDPS court denied Aryan Khan’s bail application on Wednesday, compelling him to seek relief from the Bombay High Court. On October 7, Aryan Khan was sentenced to 14 days in judicial imprisonment and has been detained at the Arthur Road jail since then. After the NCB vigorously opposed Aryan’s bail petition, his lawyer argued that no contraband was found on him and that he will not tamper with evidence. Aryan’s custody should be prolonged, according to the NDPS court.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan made his first public appearance since his Aryan was detained on Thursday.
The NCB officers arrived at Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s residence late Thursday afternoon for some paperwork. According to a report in The Times Of India, Ananya was served the summons by an NCB officer. “The investigation is ongoing,” he said. When NCB officials question someone or go to a location, it doesn’t mean they’re a suspect or under investigation. Several procedures are being followed.”
In the Mumbai drug bust case, 20 persons have been arrested thus far.
