After introducing the live feature, WhatsApp is back with a new interesting feature that will allow users to pin their favourite chats to the top on the chat screen on the app. In other words, to find important chats you need not have to scroll through ten other chat threads once this feature is enabled.
Currently the new feature, is a part of WhatsApp beta with users expected to get it in the final build of WhatsApp soon. To use the “pin important chats” feature, users will have to update their app.
According to Android Police, if you’re running WhatsApp beta for Android versions 2.17.162 or 2.17.163, you’ll most likely be able to use it. Once you pin a chat, it will remain on the top of your chat list. Even though you have more recent WhatsApp chats with other individuals and groups, you will see them after these pinned chats. WhatsApp allows you to pin a maximum number of three chats, after which it will pop a notification that ‘You can only pin up to 3 chats’ if you try to pin another chat.
Here’s how the feature works:
Step 1: Open WhatsApp messenger on your Android or IOS phone.
Step 2: Long press on the chat you wish to pin.
Step 3: Pin option will appear right next to the delete , mute, archive icons at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 4: Click on the pin icon after which the chat will be pinned on the top of the screen.
After successfully testing the feature, the messenger will eventually roll out the feature to both Android and IOS phone. However, according to the Android police the new feature will be initially released with the Android users and later the IOS users will receive it.
Days ago, WhatsApp also introduced a new feature for the iOS users. The feature allows users to send, read and draft WhatsApp messages with the help of Siri. This will reduce the burden of typing long messages. The users just have to speak out their messages hearing which Siri will automatically draft the message. After which the user will have to name the contact and say “Send”. Hearing this, Siri will send the message to the respective WhatsApp contact.
