New York Fashion Week: Anne Hathaway Re-Creates Her Iconic Look From Devil Wears Prada!

In 2008 we were introduced to Miss Andy Sachs the clueless girl next door who becomes an assistant to the editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine, Runway. The iconic chick flick, Devil Wears Prada was loosely based on the life of the fashion mogul Anna Wintour. The author of the book with the same name, Lauren Weisberger, used to be Anna’s assistant and it’s mentioned several times, how the character of Miranda Priestly, (cutthroat editor in chief of Runway) is just a tad extra version of Wintour herself. Even though it’s been sixteen years Devil Wears Prada remains as one of the most iconic chick flicks, of the early Y2k.

While her character Andy might have “fished out her outfits out of a bargain bin from a pile of stuff”, Anne has set her legacy as a complete glamour goddess. From being the best dressed at Cannes or glittering as the face of Bvlgari, Anne is killing it these days with her fashion game. And if strutting around in six inch hot pink platforms wasn’t enough Anne decided to leave our jaws hanging at the New York Fashion Week, as she attended the Michael Kors show yesterday.

The Oscar-winning actress gave us a nostalgia attack, as she sat in the front row next to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, at the Michael Kors runway show, looking like a splitting image of Andy from 16 years back. Anne decided to channel Andy’s last look in the movie. She wore a chocolate brown leather jacket over a black turtle neck, with a pair of black pumps. She teamed up the look with fluffy bangs just like the ones she has in the movie. It was eerie how similar Hathaway looked to her character 16 years ago. What made this look even more iconic was the fact that Hathaway was sitting right next to Anna, giving us a déjà vu of the Hathaway and Meryl duo from the film.

Wintour, who has joked about her character several times before, even with Meryl Streep who plays her in the movie, seemed to be in the joke as she kept on smiling while looking at Hathaway. And Hathaway has a brilliant sense of humour for doing this while she knew she was going to be seated next to Wintour at the runway show.
