After a week full of glamour, top-notch fashion, celebrities and their designers, Lakme Fashion Week 2018 has finally come to an end. The show witnessed some of the most ethereal collections by the designers. Popular Bollywood faces like Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Diana Penty, Vaani Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Shilpa Shetty, Aditi Rao Hydari, Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha, Saif Ali Khan and many others were seen putting their best foot forward on the ramp. And not to forget the grand entry of the Begum of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who brought a fabulous close to the finale of the event as she turned showstopper for designer Anamika Khanna.

Kareena looked all dreamy in her all-black outfit and grabbed a few eyeballs as she walked the runway in her all-black outfit but giving her tough competition this time was another actress from the film fraternity. And surprisingly that actress was Sushmita Sen.

Yes, you heard that right!

The “Main Hoon Na” actress, Sushmita Sen completely stole the show as she walked the ramp on Umrao Jaan super-hit song, “In Aankhon Ki Masti” for Kotwara by Meera and Muzaffar Ali at Day 4 of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018. Former Miss Universe looked breathtakingly beautiful in the gold-sequined lehenga that she teamed with dual dupattas. She walked the runway with grace, posed for the shutterbugs and did a magical spell with her expressions and hand gestures.

Check out some of her pictures from the event here:

Doesn’t she look ethereal?

Meera and Muzzafar’s regal collection ‘Samanzar- A Garden of Flowers’ included shades of pristine whites, basic blacks and glittering golds. It majorly comprised of Shararas, Saris, Kurtas, Angrakhas, Skirts, Tulle Robes, Capes and Lehangas.

On being asked about her experience walking on the ramp after so long and that too on Rekha ji’s song, Sushmita Sen expressed that it was just like a dream come true for her. She said, “It was 1981. And my entire family and all aunties who came home and the ones who knew even little bit of Urdu used to sing this song. I only understood the value of this song when I grew up. As a child I grew up dancing to it, so today my parents will be very excited to see me walk the ramp to this song, it was a dream come true,”

Further, when Sen was asked what she intends to do next, she revealed, “I have many things to do. I have to do a film with which I can take a bow. I would like to give back all the love… I owe it to the people who love me. It doesn’t matter if they are five or five thousand. I have to do a film for them and make sure that it’s a huge hit. I’m taking my time but I’ll do it”.

Also, she told that she feels blessed to be still asked about her film, as there is a norm that the career of an actor is over when they reach a certain age. But that’s not the case with her as she is still asked about which film she’ll next feature in.
