Palak Muchhal Asks For Privacy As Palash–Smriti Wedding Halted Over Family Health Scare

Singer Palak Muchhal has issued a heartfelt plea for privacy after the sudden postponement of her brother Palash Muchhal’s much-anticipated wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana. What was set to be a grand celebration has been put on hold, with health concerns now at the center of the drama.

In an Instagram story, Palak wrote, “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time.” The postponement came after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was hospitalised following a serious health scare. Shortly afterward, Palash too was admitted to a hospital amid reports of medical stress.

Though Palash has since been discharged and returned to Mumbai, his mother confirmed that he remains emotionally shaken by the turn of events. According to her, the postponement was his decision, a deeply personal choice made out of concern for Smriti’s father whom he respects greatly.

Adding to the quiet tension, Smriti has removed all wedding-related posts from her Instagram. The decision to step back from sharing celebrations reflects how serious the situation has become for both families, and highlights why Palak is calling for calm.

Public reaction has been a mix of sympathy and speculation. While many fans have expressed prayers and support for Smriti’s father’s recovery, some have asked questions about why the wedding was so abruptly delayed. Online forums have even raised rumors, but Palak’s message serves as a firm boundary: this is not the time for gossip, it is a time for care.

The family’s request for privacy is a reminder of how fragile life can be, especially when you live in the spotlight. For Palak, her brother’s happiness means everything, but not at the cost of compromising the well-being of those he loves, especially when it comes to family.

As things stand, no new date for the wedding has been announced. For now, the focus remains where it should: on recovery, on support, and on giving the family the quiet they need in a moment that once promised celebration.
