Actor and filmmaker Parmeet Sethi recently shared a deeply emotional and shocking story from his family’s past during a vlog with his son Aryamann Sethi. The revelation left not only viewers stunned but also actress Archana Puran Singh and their sons speechless. During the vlog, Parmeet revealed that his mother, Sushil Sethi, was shot as a child during the riots surrounding the Partition of India.

According to the actor, the bullet remained inside her body for nearly two years because doctors at the time could not locate it. The emotional conversation took place during one of Aryamann Sethi’s YouTube vlogs, where Parmeet Sethi was preparing one of his mother’s recipes with his son. While remembering his mother, Parmeet described Sushil Sethi as a thoroughly cinematic personality and spoke about the hardships his family faced during the Partition era.

According to the actor, his mother was around 10 to 12 years old at the time and was living in a region that later became part of Pakistan. Recalling the horrifying incident, Parmeet Sethi said, “She was shot during the Partition.” He further explained that a tailor who frequently visited their home attempted to steal a gun belonging to his grandfather during the riots.

Parmeet narrated, “My grandfather kept a gun in the house, so the tailor sneaked in with the intention of stealing it; he wanted to use the weapon during the riots.” According to the actor, his mother woke up after hearing noises inside the house. When she attempted to scream, the intruder shot her. Parmeet Sethi revealed that due to limited medical technology and facilities available during that period, doctors were unable to determine where exactly the bullet had lodged.

He said, “The bullet remained in her body for two years.” Parmeet further shared that the bullet reportedly kept shifting inside her body, making it extremely difficult for doctors to locate it. Because of her injuries and prolonged illness, his mother was unable to attend school for nearly two years. By then, the family had already migrated to India after the Partition of India.
