Reports suggest that Pravina Deshpande had been battling multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, since 2019.

She also underwent a bone marrow transplant as part of her treatment. In a 2024 interview with one of the media houses, Pravina had opened up about the early signs of her illness. She revealed that it began with small rashes that gradually spread across her body.

Later, in 2022, she experienced severe back pain after her first round of treatment, which prompted her to begin intensive medical care. She had shared that after completing the shoot of a web series in September, she was hospitalized for chemotherapy and subsequently underwent a bone marrow transplant.
