After promoting and unveiling the poster of much awaited film ‘Sangamithra’ at the illustrious Cannes Film Festival, Shruti Hassan has backed out from the multi-lingual project.
The film is a tale of trials and tribulations of Sangamithra and her journey to save her kingdom and is set in the 8th century AD. The actress had already started a training for her role of the warrior princess in the film. In a recent interview, she seemed every bit excited about the role and had said, “Sangamithra is going to be physically very demanding for me. It is challenging, something that I have never done before. It is a fantasy epic film and it has a lot of layers.’
But reportedly, she still hadn’t received the comprehensive script and proper date calender. Confirming the news of her departure from the project, her spokesperson shared the press statement which stated, “S hruti has, unfortunately, had to take a call not to be part of ‘Sangamithra’. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over two years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar.”
” Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to ‘Sanghamithra’, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script nor a proper date calendar.”
The 31-years-old actress is presently busy promoting ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ that stars Rajkumar Rao opposite her in the lead role.
