Raghav Juyal Calls YouTube ‘Stupid’, Clarifies Remark After Niharika NM Questions Him During Interview

Actor and dancer Raghav Juyal found himself at the centre of an online debate after a comment about YouTube during a promotional interview for his upcoming film Bhai Tera Star Hai. The actor initially described YouTube as “stupid”, but quickly clarified his statement after co-star and digital creator Niharika NM questioned his remark, leading to an awkward yet widely discussed exchange.

During an interview with Mashable India, Raghav reflected on his journey in the entertainment industry, which began with dance reality shows before expanding into hosting and acting. While discussing career choices in the industry, he said that people generally respect every profession but added that he did not have a YouTube channel because “it’s stupid.” The remark was immediately met with laughter from Niharika NM, who built her popularity through digital content creation before entering films.

Niharika promptly asked, “What is stupid? Doing YouTube?” putting Raghav on the spot. The actor, along with the show’s host, quickly stepped in to explain that he was referring to “people’s perception” rather than the platform or content creators themselves. Niharika acknowledged the clarification, replying, “Aah. Correct. Yeah,” allowing the conversation to move forward.

Attempting to explain his viewpoint further, Raghav said he had seen many creators achieve remarkable success through YouTube and did not intend to belittle the platform. His clarification suggested that he was talking about the way some people perceive YouTube as a career rather than expressing his own opinion about content creators or the platform itself.

Despite the clarification, clips of the exchange quickly circulated across social media, where users debated whether Raghav had genuinely misspoken or had attempted to walk back his original comment. One post on X claimed that the actor had changed his stance after being challenged by Niharika and even alleged that a portion of the conversation had been edited. The post also pointed out that comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina had recently promoted Bhai Tera Star Hai, making the comment appear contradictory to some viewers.

The incident generated mixed reactions online. While several users defended Raghav, saying his statement had been taken out of context, others felt his initial wording reflected a dismissive attitude towards YouTube creators. Many also praised Niharika for calmly seeking clarification rather than allowing the comment to pass without question.

Raghav has enjoyed a steady rise in the entertainment industry over the past few years. After becoming a household name through dance reality television and hosting assignments, he received widespread acclaim for his performance as the antagonist in Kill. He later won praise for his role in The Ba*ds of Bollywood, further establishing himself as a versatile actor capable of handling diverse characters.

Bhai Tera Star Hai marks another milestone in his career, as it is his first film as a lead actor. Directed by Vivek B. Agrawal, the comedy also stars Niharika NM, Vikalp and the comedy duo Jordindian. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 30.

Meanwhile, the viral interview has once again highlighted the growing relationship between traditional entertainment and digital media. With many actors collaborating with online creators to promote films and reach younger audiences, conversations around YouTube’s role in the entertainment industry continue to evolve. Although Raghav clarified that his comment referred to public perception rather than the platform itself, the brief exchange has become one of the most talked-about moments from the film’s promotional campaign.
