Popular Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has finally been released from Tihar Jail after the Delhi High Court granted him interim bail for 30 days in connection with a long-running cheque bounce case. Following his release on Tuesday, the actor expressed gratitude to his fans and made an emotional appeal to the film industry, requesting opportunities to work again. The actor, known for his iconic comic roles, also revealed that he will soon hold a press conference to present his side of the 16-year-old financial dispute.

After he deposited ₹2.5 crore toward the outstanding amount, the court granted him interim bail until March 18, 2026. The actor had requested temporary relief in order to attend his niece’s wedding scheduled for February 19. The bail provides him temporary relief while legal proceedings and settlement discussions continue. The case dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav took a loan of ₹5 crore from Murli Projects Private Limited to finance his directorial and production debut film Aata Pata Lapata.
