Ram Charan Apologize After Being Trolled For Calling Jasprit Bumrah a Footballer and Referring to Bhopal as Bihar at Peddi Event

South superstar Ram Charan recently found himself at the center of social media trolling after committing not one, but two major blunders during the music launch event of his upcoming film Peddi. The actor mistakenly referred to Indian cricket star Jasprit Bumrah as a footballer and later accidentally addressed the people of Bhopal as the people of Bihar. Videos of both moments quickly went viral online, sparking memes, jokes, and widespread reactions from fans across social media platforms.

The music launch event for Peddi took place on May 23 and was attended by several prominent personalities including Janhvi Kapoor, A. R. Rahman, and the film’s cast and crew. During a rapid-fire interaction on stage, Ram Charan was asked to describe some of India’s biggest cricket stars in a few words. While he confidently responded to names like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, things took an unexpected turn when he was asked about Jasprit Bumrah.

Forgetting that Bumrah is a cricketer, Ram Charan said, “Jasprit Bumrah ji, I am your biggest fan. I love football, and you are taking the sport to great heights.” The statement instantly shocked fans and quickly became viral content on social media. Users flooded platforms like X with memes and humorous reactions, with many wondering how the actor confused one of India’s biggest cricketers with a football player. Soon after the clip went viral, Ram Charan realized his mistake and publicly apologized to Jasprit Bumrah through social media.

Fans appreciated the actor for quickly acknowledging his mistake and offering a respectful apology. As if the Bumrah confusion was not enough, Ram Charan made another awkward error during the same event. While addressing the audience in Bhopal, the actor mistakenly shouted, “People of Bihar, are you with me?” The host immediately stepped in to correct the error, but by then the moment had already been captured on camera. The clip soon spread across social media, triggering another wave of trolling and memes.
