Actor Ranvir Shorey was in a relationship with Pooja Bhatt for a period of time. However, Pooja later married Manish Makhija, but the couple separated after a few years. Ranvir Shorey recently discussed his past relationship with Pooja Bhatt and his strained relationship with Mahesh Bhatt. During an interview with news agency ANI, he mentioned that he held Mahesh Bhatt in high regard until a certain “fiasco” occurred during his time dating Pooja, which led to tensions between them.

Ranvir Shorey expressed his sentiments, stating, “I held Mr. Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt) in high regard until the incident occurred while I was in a relationship with his daughter, Pooja Bhatt. It became apparent to me that the respect I had for him was being exploited to manipulate me… There was a lot of deceitful behaviour happening.”

Ranvir Shorey also addressed the issue of isolation and negative gossip within the film industry. He remarked, “This is a reality, you know, the formation of cliques, pushing someone aside, obstructing someone’s progress, sabotaging someone’s career. It occurs. It’s a reality in politics, corporate sectors, and media as well. However, this aspect is far from glamorous.”

When Ranvir spoke about his and Pooja’s relationship

In 2020, Ranvir responded to a news article discussing his and Pooja’s alleged “abusive relationship.” He took to Twitter to express his frustration, stating, “These types of articles are the outcome of the ongoing defamatory and malicious PR campaign launched against me by these influential figures in the film industry for years! None of the media outlets bother to verify old police and media records, which would reveal that it was I who was subjected to abuse by them.”

 

In another tweet, Ranvir Shorey discussed Pooja’s husband, Manish Makhija, stating, “This individual in the pictures was once my closest friend until after the incident, following which he went on to marry her. Various relationships are subject to manipulation and psychological warfare.” Pooja Bhatt and Manish Makhija tied the knot in 2003, but they announced their separation in 2014. It’s worth noting that Pooja has not formally filed for divorce from him.
