In a conversation with one of the media houses, Ranvir opened up about the thought process behind their separation and how they planned what was best for their child. He also revealed that he chose the timing of the separation very carefully, “I wanted to separate at the right age for him. I had problems before that too, but I waited until he was four. I felt it would have a deeper impact on him later in life. At this age, the child knows who his parents are and is more flexible. If they have to adjust to a new way of life, it is less painful.”

He explained, “You shouldn’t stay in so much contact that your current partner feels uncomfortable. Obviously, if you were in a relationship with someone and suddenly meet them, you’d say hello. But it shouldn’t reach a point where your ex-partner becomes a part of the family.”
