The skin has varied thickness around the body. The thickness of the skin is 0.5mm thick on the eyelids and around the eyes, 2-3 mm otherwise and 4.0mm thick on the heels of the feet. The cause for dark circles can vary from person to person but they cause by more or less the same types of reasons. Hyperpigmentation due to excess melanin, some medication that caused your blood vessels to dilate, scratching and rubbing of eyes excessively, not getting enough sleep or sleeping on stomach, stress and sun rays.
