Even though we are already late in winters and have been going around fully dressed yet when we look back at our skin, we can spot a rainbow! There is discoloration, pale skin and tanned skin all mixed together under the rugs. But we have some time till we go out for summers and that is all we’ll need to remove our tan and allow our skin to get the even color naturally. Here are 5 effective ways:
Use lemon – Lemon has citric acid which has whitening properties and almost instantly lightens up the skin. Using it twice or thrice a week can easily lift up the tan n a month! Let it sit for 10 minutes and then wash it out.
- Papaya and tomatoes pulp – Make a paste by mashing up both and apply them on your skin for 30 minutes or so and then wash them out. Both have whitening properties but take up more time than lemon juice.
- Buttermilk and oatmeal – Since the start of time queens and princesses used to bathe in milk to maintain their beautiful skin. You need not bathe in this mixture but mixing 3 tablespoons of buttermilk and 2 tablespoons of oatmeal and applying it on your skin is enough.
- Turmeric and milk – Once again we know what milk does and turmeric is said to have miraculous properties for the skin. Mix it as suited and massage on the skin. This will help remove the tan but remember that turmeric will leave a faint yellow color behind which was very desired by ancient Indians for it corresponds with gold.
- Rose water, cucumber and lemon juice – Rose water and cucumber work wonders for dark circles as well. All three have kin lightening properties and using them a few times every week will definitely help you obtain a lighter skin tone.
No matter what you do remember to always moisturize heavily after going through these routines and for that you can use honey. You can also mix honey with the above to make a paste so that the very routine does not dry out your skin.
