One of the most entertaining stories shared by Dhawan perfectly captures Kapoor’s straightforward nature. According to him, a director once approached Rishi Kapoor to narrate a script. Kapoor, in his usual practical style, suggested that the narration happen during his drive home. As the car journey began, the director started explaining the story. However, the very first scene of the film was set at night.

The moment Kapoor heard this, he immediately asked his driver to stop the car. Without hesitation, he turned to the director and said that he does not work in films that require night shoots. Reiterating his rule of packing up by 7 PM, Kapoor asked the director to step out of the car then and there, before driving away. This anecdote not only highlights Rishi Kapoor’s sense of humor but also his clarity and confidence in his choices.
