Rohit Shetty Replies To The Query About The ‘Good Muslim’ And ‘Bad Muslim’ Narratives In Sooryavanshi
Rohit Shetty, the filmmaker, is rejoicing in his latest hit, Sooryavanshi. The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Along with Akshay and Katrina, the movie also stars Ranveer and Ajay in cameo roles. Ajay and Ranveer played their roles as Singham and Simmba, respectively. Sooryavanshi was released on November 5th, and the movie broke the box office in a short span of time.
In conversation with Rohit Sheety regarding his latest hit, the filmmaker said it was quite a challenge to hold on to the movie to get it released in theatres. During lockdown, many movies were released on OTT platforms, and Shetty also got an offer to do the same.Reportedly, the movie was to be released in 2020, but COVID got it delayed, and therefore, the movie was released now.
When asked about ‘good Muslims’ and ‘bad Muslims’, Shetty stated that no questions were raised about him when his villains were Hinduist propagators. The filmmaker said, “If I ask you one question, Jaykant Shikre was Hindu and Marathi. In this universe, second, a Hindu Godman was there, and then in Simmba, a Maharashtrian again. All three of these negative forces were Hindu. Why isn’t that a problem? “Later, Rohit said how he formed the trio of three popular actors, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar. Moreover, he explained how he represented the police officials in his movie.
Furthermore, the filmmaker’s film Golmaal Again won the award for Best Film (Jury’s Choice Award) in the year 2018.
