Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been acquitted in the Arms Act case registered against him in Jodhpur in 1998. The Chief Judicial Magistrate gave a clean chit to Khan in the case, filed along with the black buck poaching case. The court rejected the prosecution’s claim that Khan possessed and used illegal arms, and gave him the “benefit of doubt” while exonerating him. The court also said that the prosecution did not produce evidence to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt.

A case against Khan was registered under the Arms Act by Jodhpur police in October 1998 for the use and possession of arms with expired license during the alleged poaching of two black bucks in Kankani village. The case was filed by the forest department. clean chit to Khan in the case
