Sara Ali Khan Speaks About Nepotism While Promoting Kedarnath!

Sara Ali Khan is debuting in Bollywood with Kedarnath, an Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial venture, which also features Sushant Singh Rajput. The film trailer has been out and Sara’s performance is being appreciated from the bits from the trailer. The movie will hit the theatres next month and all eyes will be on the debutante, Sara Ali Khan. The actress has begun the promotions of the film and during her interview with BBC’S Asian Network, she talked about Nepotism.

Both Amrita Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan have maintained that Sara always wanted to be a movie star for as long as they can remember. The actress herself revealed the same in the interview saying that she started copying actors at home from a very young age. She said being a daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh came with its own perks but she knows she has to work hard to stay in the business despite all the advantages she has.

She further explained that she believes Nepotism exists in Bollywood but the conversation around it has turned very harsh in the country. She said,” I don’t think I can run away from that. It would be hypocritical and wrong for me to say that it doesn’t exist. The main perk of (being an insider) is the access; what it does is that it allows- I could go to Rohit Shetty sir’s office and say that would you consider me for Simmba, that’s a privilege.

While Sara agrees that nepotism does exist in the industry, the actress feels that if being a Star kid: you are not good with your work, you will be asked to leave. She said,” What I am trying to say is that while star kids, as much as I hate that term, do have easier access to this line maybe, but if you are not good, you are going to be asked to leave.

Sara who is currently in London with her mother Amrita feels that as an actor, she has a lot of pressure to be able to deliver in her debut film. The actor said, “I do carry the burden of a little bit of pressure that comes with, I am aware that it is going to be seen by many as an unearned opportunity and when that happens, the pressure is even greater.”

On the work front, Kedarnath release on December-9, 2018 and the film star Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan. on the other hand, Rohit Shetty’s Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan will release on December 28, 2018.
